Hi, Kathy. You'll like old town Auburn. Its small but charming. We recently stayed at the Powers Mansion B & B and enjoyed our stay. Its an old victorian with lots of character. Its a little funky (sloping floors, etc.) but that was part of the charm for us. You'll meet the owner, Alfred, who is very personable & helpful and will fix you a memorable breakfast. Try Monkey Cat (walking distance) for dinner. Dumb name - great food. Enjoy your stay in California.
