Garnacho’s apparent refusal to entertain other offers undoubtedly works in Chelsea’s favour. United have already settled for a loan exit for Marcus Rashford and may be forced to lower their demands to raise funds after spending over £200 million on the attacking trio of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško.

Should Chelsea strike a deal with United, Garnacho would become the club’s seventh signing of the summer – following Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr through the doors at Stamford Bridge. Garnacho still has three years remaining on his current contract at the Theatre of Dreams.
