East Syracuse, N.Y. -- Bishop Grimes is closing and consolidating into one school at Bishop Ludden in Geddes, Roman Catholic Diocese officials said this afternoon in a letter. The letter went out to faculty, parents, staff and students. The district said the decision was “not made lightly.”

More than two years after a quadruple homicide devastated Moscow, Idaho, a judge unsealed the transcript of a recent hearing in the case against Bryan Kohberger – the man accused of stabbing four students to death in an off-campus home.

The Diocese said late Thursday that it will consolidate the campuses of Bishop Grimes and Bishop Ludden into a unified Catholic high school, a new system that will be in place for the 2025/26 school year. The Diocese called it a "difficult decision" made as the Catholic School system faces financial challenges.

Parents of Bishop Grimes High School are fearful that the school may close. Many parents told syracuse.com today that talk is rampant among parents, staff and students that the Catholic school could close at the end of the school year.
