Spike Lee’s version of Akira Kurosawa’s ‘High and Low,’ which also stars A$AP Rocky, is set to hit theaters on Aug. 15 ahead of a Sept. 5 streaming debut.

A reimagining of Akira Kurosawa’s classic 1963 film High and Low, the trailer to Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest paints a picture of a thrilling crime drama that takes place in the midst of New York’s Hip-Hop culture while giving us a new nickname for the blicky, “Jake From State Farm” i.e. insurance. That was a hella clever line.

Apple and A24 today unveiled the first official trailer for Highest 2 Lowest, their Kurosawa-inspired crime thriller reuniting Spike Lee and Denzel Washington for the first time since Inside Man back in 2006.
