Noting an executive order by President Trump, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said in a letter to Comcast CEO Brian Roberts that the agency is probing both Comcast and NBCUniversal.

FCC Chair Carr, a Trump appointee, has said he will investigate PBS and NPR, which both receive government funding, to see if government rules around the naming of financial sponsors on the air has been violated.

"I want to ensure that your companies are not promoting invidious forms of discrimination in violation of FCC regulations and civil rights laws," FCC chair Brendan Carr said in a letter
