Luxury sports carmaker Ferrari will present its first fully-electric vehicle (EV) at its capital markets day scheduled on Oct. 9, Chief Executive Benedetto Vigna said on Tuesday.

Breaking its tradition for roaring petrol engines, Ferrari's much-awaited EV will be showcased at a capital markets day on Oct. 9.

Ferrari Chairman John Elkann stated as early as 2021 that the automaker would launch its first electric vehicle in 2025. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna has now confirmed the vehicle will debut on Oct. 9 during the company’s scheduled capital markets day presentation. He also revealed the EV will be one of six new Ferraris arriving in 2025.

Ferrari has set a launch date for its first electric vehicle (EV), which is set to be sold alongside its sonorous V6, V8 and V12 powered models. The Italian performance car maker will take covers off the as-yet unnamed EV on October 9 at its Maranello headquarters, where the landmark model has been spied testing several times in recent months.
