Westbound I-70 from Interstate 71 to State Route 315 were closed Monday morning after a crane struck power lines Sunday night

Interstate 70 West at I-71 is closed after a construction crane struck power lines in the area Sunday night, according to the Columbus Division of Police. The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. as crews were working on widening and reconstructing the roadways and rehabilitating bridges and ramps at the I-70/I-71 split.

A crane accident has led to the closure of Interstate 70 Sunday night. According to Columbus police dispatchers, I-70 East is closed at I-71 South due to a crane hitting electrical wires. The exits affected are SR-315 South to I-70 East and I-71 South to I-70 West.

The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced a section of Interstate 70 near downtown Columbus will be closed this weekend.
