After tossing seven strong innings in his last start, Sandy Alcantara's name is back atop deadline wish lists, with USA TODAY Sports' Bob Nightengale reporting that trade interest has soared. The 2022 NL Cy Young winner has struggled this season after missing all of 2024 following Tommy John surgery.

Major League Baseball's trade deadline machine has already been churning in earnest, with the likes of Josh Naylor, Ryan McMahon and Gregory Soto getting traded away late last week.

The MLB Trade Deadline is Thursday at 6 pm Eastern time. We've already seen a few trades over the weekend, and rumors are now beginning to swirl with more ferocity. However, while everybody is focusing on the big-name players who could change teams, like Eugenio Suarez or Joe Ryan, there's value in focusing on the "little guy."
