Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman is now more reflective of the national title game loss to Ohio State.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish put together an impressive college football campaign in 2024, playing their way to the College Football Playoff national championship game before ultimately falling to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Freeman went on to acknowledge that Notre Dame hasn't ruled out joining a conference ever but left that possibility contingent on the program finding itself at serious enough disadvantage in its independence.
