The Prince and Princess of Wales will not attend the BAFTAS this year, a Kensington Palace statement confimed.

A new royal tell-all book is hitting shelves this month, and in an excerpt from Tom Quinn's Yes Ma'am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants, published in the Times Feb. 6, the royal author reveals a story about Prince William that will tug at anyone's heartstrings.

The future King hasn't attended the awards consecutively each year, and was not due to attend this year. Given that William won't be in attendance, it seems highly unlikely that his wife, Princess Kate, will make a solo appearance, especially as the ceremony takes place at the start of her children's half-term holiday.

Prince William and Princess Kate have won praise from fans over footage in which they appeared to be moving as one. The Prince and Princess of Wales seemed to be in sync during high-profile visits across the world from Canada to the Caribbean.
