The Shedeur Sanders era of Cleveland Browns football will begin in preseason Week 1. The Browns have officially announced that Sanders will get his time to shine, as he will be under center when the Browns take on the Carolina Panthers on Friday, Aug. 8.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Maybe Shedeur Sanders will invited his dad, Deion Sanders, to the Browns preseason opener here Friday night, because now Coach Prime will have plenty to see. Sanders, the Browns fourth-team quarterback who has yet to take a snap with the first-team offense, is expected to start the game, a league source tells cleveland.com.

Tyler Huntley, whom the Browns signed on Tuesday, will come off the bench for the Browns during the preseason matchup, which will give Sanders his first chance to throw to receivers Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, Diontae Johnson and David Njoku.
