Contreras was then hit by a pitch in the fifth on a 2-0 count. He then homered in the ninth and looked to be staring down the Brewers bench as he rounded first base.

Contreras upon being hit by Quintana, went to retrieve the ball and handed it to the Brewers pitcher on his way to first base. The plunking came just one half-inning after Cardinals starter Andre Pallante hit Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins in the hand with a fastball.
