Mavericks big man Daniel Gafford had to be helped off the court on Monday night in their 129-128 overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings after his right knee buckled while he tried to set a screen. Gafford crashed down to the court at the American Airlines Arena and immediately reached for his knee, clearly in a lot of pain.

The Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Doncic in part to build what, on paper, looked to be perhaps the most imposing front court in the NBA. Anthony Davis is a 10-time All-Star pick, and in Dallas, he looked primed to return to his preferred position of power forward with Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford in place to man the center position.

The latest entrant is Mavs big man Daniel Gafford, who went down hard in Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings and exited after suffering a sprain of his right knee. Per Mavericks PR, Gafford will not return to the game vs. the Kings.
