Gov. Tim Walz is set to address Minnesota for the first time since announcing he will not seek reelection in 2026 after all. Walz is scheduled to speak from the Minnesota State Capitol at 11 a.m. Monday, several hours after he revealed that he's dropping out of the gubernatorial race.
"I came to the conclusion that I can’t give a political campaign my all," the two-term governor said in a statement.

Also not available for an interview Monday was Walz. At 11 this morning at the State Capitol, Walz read verbatim the remarks he made public three hours earlier — he was dropping out of the governor’s race because of the mushrooming Medicaid fraud scandal.
