MILWAUKEE — Normally, left-hander Shota Imanaga’s start day landing on the last game of a high-profile series, when the Cubs needed a win to avoid a sweep, would’ve seemed ideal. He has been a stopper for the Cubs for two seasons.

Michael Busch homered on the game’s first pitch, Moisés Ballesteros hit a bases-clearing double and Chicago moved one game back of Milwaukee for the NL Central lead.

Andrew Vaughn led the Brew Crew to a 9-3 win Tuesday night. The first baseman had three hits including a grand slam and drove in six runs to pace the attack. Quinn Priester allowed two runs over 5.2 innings to secure his tenth win of the season. Milwaukee’s lead in the National League Central is now two games over the Cubs.
