Police in Cobb County have announced the arrest of a man who is accused of killing his mother after she was found dead during a welfare check Monday.Cobb County Police said they have arrested and charged 28-year-old Daniel Sarris of Kennesaw with aggravated assault and murder in connection to the death of his mother.

A Kennesaw man is in custody accused of murdering his mother after her body was found during a wellness check on Monday.

Police responded to a home on Evian Way around 10:30 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, officers found Melanie Sarris, 67, dead inside the home. Detectives announced on Tuesday that they arrested Daniel Sarris, who was the victim’s son. He faces murder and aggravated assault charges.
