The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan and Indiana and its Four Winds Casinos presented checks totaling $335,000 to 11 local organizations at a ceremony Wednesday at Four Winds South Bend.
The theft stemmed from a call that was made to the casino in July 2023 by a person claiming to be a tribal chairperson who needed funds to make an urgent payment.
