The first NBA game on NBC in 23 years will feature the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder against perhaps their chief competition in the West, and the Cleveland Cavaliers are back on Christmas Day for the first time since the LeBron James era, league and network sources confirmed to The Athletic on Friday.

Opening night will see Kevin Durant head back to Oklahoma City with his new team, and watch his former team raise their NBA championship banner. The other game will see Stephen Curry and LeBron James play against one another in another star-studded Western Conference class.

The Warriors will open the season on Oct. 21 at the Los Angeles Lakers, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. The game will be the second of a double-header broadcast on NBC, the first NBA games the network has aired since the last game of the 2002 NBA Finals.
