After a sopping start to the new year, Southern California's persistent drizzle is expected to wrap up by late Tuesday, ushering in a period of dry conditions, warmer temperatures and even some Santa Ana winds by the weekend,
Communities across Southern California are cleaning up after several days of showers across the region. Evacuation warnings were in place for neighborhoods across Los Angeles County, primarily in areas surrounding recent burn scars -- including in Altadena around the Eaton Fire burn scar.

A mild day is on the way for Thursday. High temperatures will hit 50 degrees. Then it goes from mild to wild. Rain develops by mid-afternoon and will continue most of Thursday night. A half inch to 1 inch of rain is possible. A few flurries or sprinkles are possible on Friday morning.
The Cascades could see 2-4 feet of snow between early Tuesday and late Thursday. Drivers should be prepared for winter conditions on the mountain passes.
