Less than one week after being hired as the 19th head coach in Chicago Bears history, Ben Johnson has chosen his three coordinators.

The Bears officially announced Dennis Allen, Declan Doyle, and Richard Hightower as their three coordinators for the 2025 season.

CHICAGO (CBS Sports) -- The Chicago Bears recently got their new head coach in Ben Johnson. Now they have two right-hand men for Johnson, on Sunday hiring former New Orleans Saints coach Dennis Allen as the team's new defensive coordinator, as NFL Media reported, and 28-year-old Declan Doyle as the new offensive coordinator.

According to multiple reports, they will hire Dennis Allen as their defensive coordinator and Declan Doyle as their offensive coordinator. Those reports also indicate that the team will retain special teams coordinator Richard Hightower.

Former Raiders and Saints head coach Dennis Allen will be the Bears’ defensive coordinator, while Declan Doyle will serve as offensive coordinator, sources said Sunday night. Special teams coordinator Richard Hightower will return in the same role.

Doyle spent some of his formative years as an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints from 2019 to 2022 under then-coach Sean Payton. Over his four seasons with New Orleans, the Saints had a .621 winning percentage and won NFC South Division titles in Doyle's first two seasons.
