Per ESPN, the Detroit Lions intend to hire Denver Broncos pass game coordinator John Morton, an Auburn Hills native, as their new offensive coordinator.

The Chicago Bears have found their new coordinators under first-year head coach Ben Johnson.

The Detroit Lions tabbed former Denver Broncos pass game coordinator John Morton as the team's offensive coordinator, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.

John Morton worked closely with Ben Johnson in designing the Lions current offense in his lone season in Detroit in 2022

Coach Dan Campbell has been looking to fill both of his coordinator openings following the departures of Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn to the Chicago Bears and New York Jets, respectively, as their new head coaches. Detroit is set to promote linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard to defensive coordinator, a team source told The Athletic last week.

Since then, the Lions have seen offensive coordinator Ben Johnson become the head coach of the Chicago Bears and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn take the head coaching job with the New York Jets . On Tuesday, the Lions reportedly decided on the replacement for Johnson.
