LOUISVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56) — A woman is dead after a shooting at a Louisville school bus stop on Wednesday. At a news conference, Louisville Metro Police Chief Paul Humphrey said the shooting happened around 8 a.m. near 11th and Chestnut streets, near several bus stops.

A young woman was struck and killed by gunfire while walking a child to a bus stop in Louisville, Kentucky, on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Louisville Metro Police responded to a shooting about 8 a.m. at 10th and Chestnut streets near Coleridge-Taylor Elementary. The victim was transported to UofL Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The victim has not yet been identified. LMPD said she was walking with a small child.
