A Cumbrian killer serving a life imprisonment for the murder of his wife has died in prison, government officials have announced.

Professor Karen Broadhurst, a Professor of Social Work at Lancaster University, was named in HM The King's 2025 Birthday Honours.

Parkhead Farm at The Hill held its annual open garden event last month, bringing in over £1700 for St Mary's Hospice.

The event will be returning on July 5, with the theatre just one part of the town-wide celebrations currently planned.
