In a closely contested presidential runoff, conservative historian Karol Nawrocki has been declared the winner of Poland's 2025 presidential election, securing 50.89% of the vote against liberal Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski's 49.

Poles awakened Monday to a clear albeit close result that returns a nationalist politician to the presidency who has pledged to hinder the centrist, pro-EU government for the remainder of its term.

Conservative Karol Nawrocki narrowly won Poland's presidential runoff election, beating Warsaw's liberal mayor, according to the final vote count. Nawrocki was backed by President Trump.
