Several players from the Pittsburgh Pirates were moved during Major League Baseball's trade deadline on July 31. Numerous players, including one of the team's most popular players, were traded away in a hectic day.

With the Yankees needing help in the bullpen, the team will get David Bednar in a trade with the Pirates before the 2025 deadline.

Bednar becomes the Yankees' top reliever in terms of average fastball velocity. He is under club control through the 2026 season.
