Puma is pursuing legal action over Tiger Woods' Sun Day Red brand logo. Golf Digest reported that the German company filed a notice of opposition claiming the logo for Sun Day Red, the brand launched by Woods and TaylorMade Golf last year, is too similar to its own logo.

Sportswear company PUMA has initiated legal action against Tiger Woods’ new apparel brand, Sun Day Red, accusing it of trademark infringement.

Sportswear powerhouse PUMA, who has a division dedicated to golf within its ranks called PUMA GOLF, is challenging the leaping tiger logo of Tiger Woods ‘s nascent label Sun Day Red. The Germany company claims that the mark is too similar to its own patented Leaping Cat logo and could lead to confusion among customers.

The German sneaker and apparel company says the Sun Day Red logo is too similar to the logo that Puma has been using since 1969. The company filed a petition with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office to prevent the TaylorMade-owned golf brand from being able to use its proposed mark.

Sun Day Red, a new apparel brand launched by Tiger Woods earlier this year is facing another lawsuit over its logo, this time from Puma.

Another company has sued Tiger Woods' Sun Day Red apparel line over a branding dispute. Last September, Tigeraire claimed that Sun Day Red “unlawfully hijacked” its logo, which also features a leaping tiger.
