Aug 31, 2012 · TIL that production of ALF was hell on earth with 20-hour-shoots for one episode. On the last day of shooting lead actor Max Wright (Willie Tanner) walked off set without saying goodbye.

Ironically, it's the acting of Max Wright that made many of Alf's antics work in the first place. Willie Tanner/Max was crucial to the show. The show really was ensemble, despite Alf having the focus. I recall the whole cast were getting riled up by the end, due to long days, remakes, and other problems on set.
