January 23rd is National Handwriting Day! It’s observed every year on January 23rd in recognition of John Hancock’s birthday, the first man to sign the Declaration of Independence. Prior to the invention of Johannes Gutenberg’s printing press in the 1450s, all documents, even books, were hand written. Printing allowed for the mass production of information.
