King Charles received a new honorary title during his visit to the Vatican, where he joined Pope Leo XIV in prayer before being named “Royal Confrater” — a symbol of spiritual fellowship. In return, the King made the Pope the Papal Confrater of St George’s Chapel at Windsor. During the ceremony, Charles sat in a specially designed chair featuring his coat of arms and the Latin phrase “Ut Unum Sint” (“That they may be one”). The chair will remain in the basilica for use by the King and his heirs.
